Something I’ve been working on off-and-on for a few months. I used to have SimTunes many years ago and I missed playing it, but I remember its limitations, so I decided to clone it and expand on it a little further to make it more useful and less of a “toy”.
Some of my planned features include: MIDI Output, Up to 64 individual instruments, MP3 Exporting and an easy interface to add your own instruments. That is, of course, If I ever finish it…
So far it does make sounds however the list of things to finish is still quite long before any kind of release, I need to record notes off every instrument I have access to with different techniques and velocities, Essentially creating my own sample set. This should total around 17 Sample sets.
Does it save the songs in the same format as SimTunes does, or can it import save files from SimTunes? Also, how can I download a prototype of this?
It saves in it’s own format (Because of all the extra data surrounding sample sets, colour pallets and such), However it is certainly withtin the realm of possibility to include a tool to convert the files! – Providing of course I can work out the simtunes format.
Currently there is no public release, It’s simply not ready (It’s missing key things required for it to be usable, namely an interface to place, edit and delete bugs, The video was done through code to test) – Once I have that sorted I will upload a beta version for testing purposes!
hey it sounds good.
if you need some sound samples why not try a music app like fruityloops? could you kindly email me with any updates on your progress at
